If! I say again if we wrote our own Declaration of Independence what would it look like or say?
Would it include the statement “we need protection from the savages on our frontier”? i.e. boundaries.
Would it be addressed to the President of the Untied states of America?
I can see furrowed brows and smiles, mostly though incredulous faces.

This is exactly what the British said to the British colonists. Well not exactly but you get the point.
The United States of America Supremely Court upheld the tribal rights of NDNS to stay on their own lands.
In the case of “The Cherokee Nation vs the State of Georgia.” The Cherokees declared their independence from the gold mongering, land grabbing state of Georgia.
And to this day the fight for independence to live as a free and separate nation of native people. Those who were and still are native to this land now called America.
Sounds great to be free but along with this is a big fat government that says no Way!
And our tribe bloated with government subsidies and no real industrial base to speak of. It has become the second spending arm of the very government they want independence from.
What a conundrum of interest, wants, and needs of native people.
Independence sounds good but, in reality- an unachievable dream.
Too many people would have to vacate the land. Not to mention the inter relationships already formed. i.e. marriages.
Where would we get the finances for Law enforcement, running of the government?
Commodities i.e. groceries, handouts for the needy?
Hmm, another conundrum.
I know the casinos (😊) they make kazillions of dollars!
