I heard the term two-spirits being banded, about by the lgbtQ++++++-+=so on, and so on so on. They were using this term to show what? That even History? Native history i.e. Indian people have recognized from the beginning about this other group in their tribes.
What history and whose? Who translated a native language? Did they get it right? Question what is the right answer?
This is a new term or concept used to justify a lifestyle. Yet, taking something from another culture and forcing it to conform to your beliefs doesn’t make it so. This is the first time I have heard of two-spirits and found that it is a relatively new one.
I’ve seen on videos of people claiming this two-spirit as proof of their having it because natives had it so can we. Even though native culture is for natives and for others to either appreciate or even make fun of. Others of course study it and try to emulate or live it.
Even though wearing buckskins, a feather in your braided hair, or wearing a tear dress, or ribbon shirt doesn’t make you ndn.
Just as my blue jeans, tee-shirt, and sneakers does not make me a white man. If that were so, then if pants are made in China, and shirts in Panama, shoes in New Zealand. Would wearing these then make me a Chin-pan-ze
Yes, mankind does have a spirit, but it is singular. Man has a spirit it is the spirit of man, just as a woman has a spirit and it is the spirit of woman. These are not interchangeable. Nor can they be traded, like baseball cards or professional sports players, one cannot give to him or her an opposite spirit.
Ndns’ sought visions or if you want their medicine’ good luck charm’ source of power, and or strength. Like a Bear, Hawk, Eagle,Beaver or some other form of wildlife, they would then take it as their own sign or blessing.
Did they have the spirit of whatever they saw?
No!
They just tried to emulate or live by the strength, cunning or wisdom of that vision.
The spirit is something that cannot be captured by him or her to give to one another.
It is not like that movie where they captured ghost spirits. Man is not even capable of capturing the spirit that God gave man. Yes, I said “God gave.”
Proverbs 20:27 – “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart,” highlighting the spirit as a guide and revealer of inner truth
Job 32:8 – “But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding,” showing that human insight comes from God’s Spirit
Ecclesiastes 12:7 – “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it,”
Whether you believe that GOD gave it or not that is up to you.
Even the Ndns’ believe in a Great Spirit something above this earthly existence.
Once again a singular Spirit.
What will the answers that come be and in what spirit will they be given?
